In 2009 I began the transition from designer / director to artist / arts educator. Creating, communicating and sharing my experiences have become my obsession and my focus for continuing this next phase of my artistic journey.
Arts Education
Southwood Secondary School (recognized for Outstanding Artist Achievement)
Conestoga College Film and Photography Program
OCA - Ontario College of Art (Honours Graduate – Industrial Design)
Royal Conservatory (Arts Educator Foundation Course Graduate)
Arts Educator Skills
Upon completing the Arts Education Foundation course I created several Education Lesson Plans designed to allow me to share my art processes in use of colour, abstraction and photography. Each of the Lesson Plans has been developed for different age groups. Anywhere from child to senior and are easily customized to suit a specific target.
Lesson Plans available are:
Welcome to Colourville (Primary Grades JK – Grade 3)
Understanding Digital Landscape Photography (All Ages)
Pizza Box Studio (High School)
Abstract Expression /Collaboration 3D (High School)
Since the completion of the above lesson plans I have had the opportunity to use my teaching skills within the classroom, conservation & environmental settings, and corporate environments. I have recently worked within the Peel Region Schools providing a lecture on Career Paths within the Arts and a lesson plan on Abstract Visual Arts.
